Perfect Grits Every Time

When I first began to cook, I could never get consistent grits. Over the years of making them, I learned how. Then my girls began to cook.  It takes time to learn how to eye ball a recipe to make it right. With this recipe, the grits are perfect every time. This is a Paula Deen recipe that I got from here.

2 cups water
1-1/4 cup milk
1 tsp. salt
1/4 cup butter
1 cup quick cooking grits, not instant

In a sauce pan, bring the water, milk and salt to a boil.
Stir in the grits and return to boil.
Cover and turn down and simmer for 30 minutes.
Add butter before serving.
